Tata Motors recently launched its new car, the “Tiago”, and at this event, the company came up with an innovative idea for success of their project. Actually Tata Motors has gone the virtual reality (VR) way to promote their newly launched car. They gave away 2.3 million virtual reality (VR) headsets absolutely free of cost to the readers of the prestigious English daily “The Times of India” on 12th April, 2016. On this day, an additional section was offered to the readers.
The separate four-page supplement was bundled with the main newspaper and it featured well-known Soccer player and brand ambassador Lionel Messi, and a full-page advertisement of the Tiago. The advertisement was present in the Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru editions of the “The Times of India” newspaper. Of course the supplement also included the free VR headset to surprise the readers.
The purpose of this free headset offer is to let people experience a multi-dimensional virtual driving experience of the Tata Tiago without stepping out and leaving the comfort of home and without facing the troubles of real road driving.
In order to promote its new car, the automobile giant has requested its potential customers to download its app and use it. The app allows users to drive the Tiago within a virtually real environment. When people take a virtual test drive of the car within the virtual world, then after leaving the virtual world, they keep thinking about the car again-and-again and wish to drive the real car. Such is the power of the virtual reality technology that viewers cannot stop themselves from imagining about the virtual drive and Tata’s new car.
Basically, this app lets the user watch the Tiago drive inside a virtual world, but the psychological impact of this virtual drive is reflected in the viewers’ behavior for a longer period of time, even if they come out of the artificial world.
If you are interested in this car, you should download the YouTube app on your iPhone and watch the immersive virtual drive video on YouTube. While watching the 360-degree video on YouTube, if you wish you can use Google Cardboard headset because now it supports YouTube VR for iPhone. Earlier Google Cardboard support to play YouTube VR videos was available for Android phones only.
You have another option too. This option is as good as playing the YouTube videos. You can download the “Tiago Virtual Drive “application from the “Google Play Store” or the “iPhone App Store” and use this application on your computer or your smartphone. The app does not only let you watch the Tiago virtual drive video but it also provides you complete information about the car. In addition, it includes specifications, features, and the market price of the car.
The virtual drive video initially exhibits Tiago’s exteriors from all angles. After showing the exterior, video focuses on the interiors of this car. This video takes you on a virtual drive and places you at the passenger’s seat. Throughout the travel, your virtual driver let you enjoy the various features of the car.
